Making the lavender infused play dough was a huge hit with my six-year-old daughter. We used dried lavender from the garden, which made it all that much more special. We love sensory activities and even weeks later, this play dough is still incredibly soft!

  • 2 cups plain flour

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/2 cup iodized salt

  • 2 tbs coconut oil

  • 3 tbs cream of tarter

  • For essence: you may use any type of calming, or lavender essential oil mix. Add to your preference! We also added dried lavender from the garden.

  • For coloring - we used about 60 drops of blue food coloring & 60 drops of red food coloring. It produces a pale lavender color; you can definitely tweak for your preference! The artificial dye-free food coloring we used is: https://a.co/d/7NfbGZD

Use any large bowl of your choice. We used a large wooden bowl, although next time I would use a large stainless-steel bowl because of the initial sticking of the playdough. We chaotically threw all the ingredients into the bowl and mixed, and kneaded, and mixed some more. Within a few minutes - voila! We have playdough!
